2008. this is a crafts project i did a while back. i really wanted to strengthen my skills with an x-acto knife. i took a piece of cardboard and glued scraps of newspaper. the studs are from an old belt i got for $2.50 and i filed it with a nail file to scratch it up. i sewed on the safety pins and cut letters out of magazines. the star (which i have many of) was my great grandmothers and it has something to with the girl scouts. i also used watercolor and construction paper.

2009. made this in my senior year of high school. we had to make a music poster for a band that was currently on tour. i picked death cab for cutie. i chose to draw a raven not only because i think it's fun to draw birds, but i thought of it as a twist to the traditional carrier pigeon. i use masking fluid, watercolor, ink using a croquill pen, and photoshop.
2009. i made this in my senior of high school. this is a monochromatic self portrait. i used acrylic paint on canvas. there are also little hints of charcoal, to push the darks and give a sketchy effect, and water color, because i didn't have any black acrylic at the moment.
2009. i made this in my junior year of high school. the focal point is of a vietnam war orphan which is based off of a real photo. the images in the background are derived from vietnam war photojournalism photos. i think this is one of my strongest projects. i used watercolor, spray paint, and ink using crow quill.
2009. this was made in my junior year of high school. this is one of my favorite portraits. it is a double portrait of vic fuentes of pierce the veil. the quote is from pierce the veil's song 'yeah boy doll face.' i had a lot of fun making this and i'm proud of how great the faces turned out. i used pencil, pen, masking fluid, and watercolor
2009. this was made in my junior year of high school. this project was an experiment to me. i had never really used all these different colors to try to represent different values, i think it turned out okay. this is a portrait of the lead singer of rise against, tim mcilrath. i really wanted to do a project with him because i thought it was visually interesting that he has 1 brown eye and 1 blue eye. the quote is by picasso. i used watercolor, masking fluid, prisma color pencil, and ink using a crowquill pen.
2009. i made this in my junior year of high school. this is one of my favorite projects i have ever made. for this project we had to somehow how use klimpt's technique. i found a picture of thom yorke of radiohead and messed with the surroundings. the sweater was inspired by the 'hail to the thief' album cover with the words being random lyrics from some of my favorite radiohead songs. i used acrylic paint, spray paint, watercolor, prisma color pencils, and ink using crow quill.
2009. i made this in my junior year of high school. this is one of my favorites and i think one of my most successful pieces, even thought it is one of my most simple. i like the color palette. this was a quick project that i made as an album cover for a mix cd for a special someone. he's alsum. this quote is from ralph waldo emerson. i like this quote because all conflict for me starts because of a misunderstanding. this was made using watercolor, masking fluid, and ink using crow quill.
2009. this is a project i did in my junior year of high school. it is a portrait of fionn regan, a talented irish folk singer. the words are lyrics from his song "put a penny in the slot" (my favorite song of his). the only thing is i didn't realize until after that i forgot a few words in the lyrics, but i like it better this way. i used prismacolor on black illustration board with spray paint.
2009. this was a project i did in my junior year of high school. it was a real quick and was meant to help strengthen my ink with crow quill skills. this is based off of a picture of a baby boomer baby protesting for peace on top of the peace statue in washington d.c.. i do know that the statue is in d.c. i used watercolor and ink.
update- in june 2010 saw the statue
2008. i made this in my junior year of high school. it isn't the best of my work, but i really like my resource. it is a photo journalists picture of the vietnam war. i liked how the mother was so calm with her dead baby, as an american soldier, who looks like elvis castello, just stared. i'll try to find the original picture. this was made with watercolor and ink using crow quill.
2008. i made this in my sophomore year of high school. this is the project where i figured out my niche with watercolor and pen. the project was to use bones and somehow put ourselves in there. thats me with no skin and my guitar "big blue". the lyrics are "imagine" by john lennon. i used watercolor, ink, colored pencils, and masking fluid.
